DIY bath routines to help you to loss weight and tone your skin

Bathing has been used as a personal care routine since ancient times. Bath can help you to relax, it can help to even out a skin tone and improve elasticity, it can also help to fight stretch marks. Bath, or health via water treatment combine with healthy diet and physical exercises can bring the best results. Bath can help with overall wellbeing, decrease stress levels and visibly improve your skin by helping to fight cellulite, stimulate blood flow and slows down signs of ageing.

Here is our list of effective at-home spa treatments you can easily recreate at home. You do not need a big, fancy bathtub to do those either.

  • Cleopatra bath

This bath helps to tone your skin. Pour 100 gm of honey into 1 litre of boiling milk. While milk is cooling down, make a mix of 150 gm sour cream with 150 gm of salt, and massage into your skin. Wait 20 minutes, then wash of the sour cream from your skin under a shower; step into the bath with added milk and take a bath for another 20 minutes. Rinse yourself under warm shower and lie down under a blanket for 20 minutes.

  • Anti-cellulite bath with essential oils

Mix together essential oils: 4 drops of lemon, 5 drops of pine oil, 3 drops of grapefruit oil and 250 gm of double cream. Pour the mix into the bathtub; take a bath for 15-20 minutes.

  • Anti-cellulite bath with ginger

Put 3 table spoons of dry ginger in one litre of water and boil it for 10 minutes. After the mix cools down, add 200 gm of soda. Pour into a bath; sit down and enjoy for 20-25 minutes.

  • Epson Salt bath

This bath can help to speed up your metabolism, cleanse your body and fight with cellulite and stretch marks. Put 500 gm of salt into the warm bath, and sit down in it for 20 minutes. For a best result to reduce cellulite, add orange, grapefruit or lemon essential oils (few drops); add couple of drops of rosemary, mint, tea tree or geranium essential oil to reduce appearance of stretch marks. After the bath, rinse yourself after warm water and lie down under the warm blanket for 20-30 minutes. Have the bath in the evening.

  • Ginger bath to help to loss weight

Mix together 6 drops of ginger essential oil with 250 gm of double cream. Pour the mixture into a warm bath; take a bath for 15-20 minutes.

  • Soda bath

Mix together 200 gm of soda with 300 gm of table salt. Pour the mix into a warm bath. Do not take this bath for more then 10 minutes. For the best result, lay down in bed for 30 minutes under a warm blanket.

  • Bath with mustard to help to loss weight

Mix in 1 glass of dry mustard into some warm water. Pout the mix into a full bath tub. Do not take a bath for more then 10 minutes. Go into a warm shower and wash yourself wiht body wash to ensure you wash off all the mustard. Lay down under a warm blanket for 20-30 minutes.


All of those treatments should be taken while sitting in a bathtub, covered up to a waste. Also, if you feel unwell or have increase heart rate, please stop the treatment. Please do not eat for at least one hour before taking a bath. Do not do those treatments of you are unwell or menstruating. Please also note those routines are suited for a healthy person, without heart conditions or high blood pressure.
