7 Homemade face masks for beauty routine

What to do if you desperately need a facial, but cannot get to the salon?

Covid and the associated events of 2020 (and possible beyond) taught us an important lesson–we need to rely more on our own talents and knowledge when it comes to beauty treatments and personal care.  Closed hair salons, inability to do manicure and pedicure, closed spas, unavailable facial treatments and professional beauty therapies left us with a desperate need to change and learn to do DIY beauty rituals at home.

Today we will discuss the top homemade facial treatments you can do at home with easy ingredients from your fridge, but first a few ground rules:

  • Never apply raw ingredients, without pre-mixing them, directly onto your skin, e.g., acid in lemon or apple cider vinegar as they might damage sensitive skin.
  • Use fresh ingredients, if you won’t eat it, you should not be putting it onto your skin.
  • Do a patch test first to avoid an adverse reaction.
  • Use your DIY treatment on the same day you made it. Remember your DIY mask does not have any preservatives, therefore bacteria might get into it easily.
